I have an 07 RKC and installed the siren II. I do not have the pager as of yet, but wanted to option to get it later. As for the install, let me tell you that working on a motorcycle it not my forte.... The instructions were full of pictures to follow. The back of the ignition box has a cut out made for the HD siren. The plug is already there. Put in the siren, clean the frame bar w/ alcohol, put antenna in the provided velco strap on the frame bar. Close everything up, and your done..... That easy....
As for sensitivity, mine chirps a couple of times if you move the bike to warn you it is armed. IF you persist, it will set off the alarm, but if you stop it doesn't. If you turn on the ignition, it will set off the alarm almost instantly.
Have the siren on my 07 Ultra. I can set on it (with the fob in the house) and not set it off. However if you try to take it off the kickstand or shake it, it will go off. Would not take for mine. Dealer feeding you a line of crap.
Be aware that once you install the siren you DO NOT have the choice to shut it up. There is not "arm without siren" option.
And on the 07 we (the dealership and I) have been unable to get the chirp mode to change to silent. The instructions in the owners manual AND in the Electrical Service manual do not work. (If anyone knows the magic incantation to make this work I'd appreciate the input. The on-off-on-off-on sequence in the manuals do not work.)
I wanted the pager WITHOUT the siren...but that is not an option. If you want the pager you HAVE to have the siren. (Must have been another one of those three martini lunches for the siren designer
As for the extra fob battery...that's no big deal. You can always disarm using the manual method. You do know the manual method AND have changed your security code, haven't you??? As a demonstration last week I started 17 out of 22 "secured" bikes that were at a ride by keying in the default HD security code that is programmed at the factory/dealer. ( yes, I had each owners permission to attempt the start....and just loved the expression on their faces when it did start.) Your security system is useless if you haven't changed the disarm code!
