Default Floorboards never scrape.

When I had my Fatboy I scraped my floorboards whenever I got slightly aggressive.

I feel like I ride pretty hard at times on my king. I have yet to scrape in tight corners or making tight turns practicing in a parking lot.

Am I getting soft or do I have to get really aggressive on a stock height FLHR to throw some sparks? There’s a 25mph tight on ramp that I keep pushing harder everyday at double speed 50mph laying it down pretty far I still have not touched ground. I kinda want to know how hard I gotta people push to touch down but at the same time I don’t want to hit a corner so fast that I can’t hold the line either.

Maybe I’m just getting old?

Try doing a 17ft U-turn. You'll scrape the boards then.

I can do 20 without a scrape too. But I'll admit, I can't do any less than that and be comfortable. I have done 18 ft without a scrape.....but I think I was just lucky. LOL! I think I'm just chicken to try to do it any tighter than 20 ft. And I can't tell you how much that pi$$es me off. That Ultra is a heavy beast to pick up.

Thumbs up

I've never scraped mine in umpteen years of riding, but then I've resisted the temptation to do 17' turns. You're doin' just fine!

I've unintentionally scraped several times and I didn't like it. I'm old.

I don't go in for a numbers game here, but riding aggressively into corners. Call me stupid but my last 4 bikes have been HD touring bikes and I have unintentionally scraped each one more times than I care to remember or count. Not on all but the one I have kept the longest I have raised the boards as far as possible and doesn't matter. The new bike I even scrape the true duals but blame that on their design. If you are enjoying the ride and not scraping I would say you are doing something right. Have fun and enjoy the ride!!!

The lean angle is different between a Fatboy and a RK by about 4 degrees. You can lean the RK further by design. That may account for your lack of scraping.

Keep scraping and you'll either get used to it OR you'll eventually wear the parts to the point where they no longer drag :>)
