Regular wire is always good for use in hot areas where zip ties would fail. Take some electrical and duct tape and wrap some on your tools or something to have tape if needed. I always have a little 5150 cord.
Thanks, will check with Geico.

Duct tape, extra fuses.

Dont let some of the comments bug you, better over prepared than under. I did a trip this year doing 500-600 miles/day & when riding that far things do happen, it’s inevitable.

We had more than a few incidents where tools and gear were necessary. Weather is something you want to make sure you are prepared for.

Duct tape and zip ties came in handy when my tag-a-Long got “tagged”

Keep an eye on Myrtle Beach roads. Horry county has around 200 roads closed due to flooding. It's currently a travel nightmare. 7 mile trip will take you over 2 hours on highway 501. Rt.9 is closed along with rt22. Rt17 is one lane in several areas. Those are our main throughways.

My lord...way too much for a trip in the civilized world. The more I travel, the less I pack these days. Clothes, rainsuit, bike cover, and basic tools

I don't ever take my equivalent of your Bike Items and Tools list out of my bike.
A few things that I always carry that are not on your list are windshield/bike cleaner and microfiber towels, first aid kit, a pressure gauge for the tires.
When I travel I put my spare key and fob on the bike or in my luggage (I flip the battery over so it isn't working).
I also take a Phone charger/cables.

Heading out mid October, Roads should be ok by then. Only concern is still in Hurricane season. Will have to keep eye on weather reports.

Is that all Interstate? Is it possible to click the little box that says "Avoid Highways" on the GPS and take the scenic route, even if it took a day or two longer? If I had the time, I'm sure it would be more fun.

On the other hand, after reading how the roads are down there....maybe Interstate is much better.

I think you need to take a helmet. I'm pretty sure you will be going through some Helmet mandatory states.

I took a 8 day 4400 mile trip to Breckenridge CO and back over the summer. My one luxury item was
Anti-Monkey Butt Anti-Monkey Butt
powder, kept things dry in the saddle during those long hot days on the road
