Hey guys I want to upgrade my fairing sound, i have heard "get after market ie. rocksford fosgate .. etc" also heard stay HD 'Boom kits" I dont know what to look for in motorcycle audio, i want what works best and is cost effective. Any input link etc are welcome, if this is not the right spot then I am sorry point me in the right area. Thanks DW
Yep, post again in audio. DSM is correct, there's no nice way to say it, boom is crap compared to aftermarket. You'll need to decide what kind of budget you have, # of speakers you want, riding style etc. Without knowing any of that can't really give input on equipment at this point.
One nugget I will offer though - buy once cry once. Do it right the first time or at least set yourself up to be able to expand later. Don't go cheap on the amp, a good one is worth the extra coin. Just ask any of us that have been through literally a handful of them. There are guys in audio section that change speakers and amps like the rest of us do underwear.
Wish I would have heeded the advice already given about the audio section. I ended up going with a Hogtunes amp/speaker kit. Took months to get it worked out to where it sounded better than stock, working with Hogtunes tech support. Just recently got it done and sounds louder for sure but at highway speeds I may as well keep it turned off.
Haha right i curise over here 55-60 and have it at full and its too distorted so i go 3/4 or less and can hardly hear it. I am not complaining about stock i am looking to go to a 4 ch set up and seeking clarity. Stock isnt terrible by any means i just want to upgrade and want to do it right the first time .

Every riders choice but I have had a Boom 2 audio for almost 2 years now and it still sounds great with zero issues , they are not junk like others have complained , and I hear just fine

it depends on what quality audio is acceptable to you. New versions of boom are better than the old but its still no way near a high quality aftermarket system. First thing I ditched on my cvo was the boom amp and speakers, kept the head unit. Its not really about how loud but about clarity and lack of distortion. But its pricey.
