Default Which one would you buy?

Looking at two different bikes...

2014 FLHTK with 22K miles for $15,500 (Daytona Blue, couple of accessories)

or

2014 CVO Limited with 15K miles for $22,500 (Autumn sunset/silver)

Any reasons you would pick one vs the other?

I recently purchased my first CVO bike (pre-owned) after comparing it to the cost of a non-CVO bike (pre-owned) plus the cost of the upgrades I generally do (engine, clutch, exhaust). It was more cost effect to go with the CVO bike to include not having the downtime to perform all the upgrades.

Off the top of my head, both seem a bit high in today's market. But the LTD seems like a better deal.
A CVO is a CVO is a CVO. If I remember right, the '14 CVO had the 110 engine, which didn't seem to get a lot of positive reviews.
I think if you shop around, you can find a better price on a LTD & equip it the way you want, not the way some marketer in Milwaukee wants to.

You could do a lot of motor work for $7K or perhaps $5K into the motor and a couple into suspension.

At $22,500 on a now 5 year old CVO, another 6K gets you a brand new Limited with the 114 M8 engine, zero miles, more bells and whistles than the 14 limited and full warranty.

Me personally, being the first year of the twin cooled or wet head and the coolant problems I've read about here on the forum ( probably over exaggerated), the 14's make me nervous. I'd look for a similar deal on a 15 or go old school and find a 13. Having said that though, I love my 08 RKC. 08 being the biggest bastard year ever for the touring models. I also have a 13 Limited that has been trouble free but the Road King gets the majority of my riding time.

You wont get those bikes for those prices in my kneck of the woods. They both seem like good prices with the tk being the better deal. Between the 2 its kind of a tough call. You can put the money in parts in the limited but you wont ever get it back. The cvo is more right out of the gate but itll hold more value longer. I have a 14 limited and i love it but i wasnt going to pay the cvo premium. Theyre nice bikes, just not my style for those years.

as far as the 110 goes, they had lifter issues. Something about too much spring pressure killed the lifters.

all that being said, id get the tk and do it how you want it. For 7k you can have it pretty custom and it will be exactly how you want it. I know when buying a bike ill be changing the seat and bars and adding a set of highway pegs.

Yes, I'm aware of the changes to the 14's. I personally didn't want wet heads, and the first year of a model change, but to each their own. Don't forget to look on Facebook Marketplace. There are LOTS of bikes there.
