Default New Grip Input?

Well, the sickness has begun, again. I don't even have my latest bike ('16 RGU) in my garage and already ordering new bars (Factory 47). I had Performance Machine grips on my RK and had the vintage style HD grips on my SG (the most comfortable I've used to-date).

I saw Get-a-Grip and Avon grips that looked like they have a slight convex shape...which is great for comfort for me. "Big hands -- Big ---- gloves" (size XXXL gloves, sorry couldn't resist). Anyway, the PM grips were very cool looking but not great for the long haul.

What are some of you guys using grip-wise? I want simple superb quality all black not heated.

I've had the get-a-grip on 2013 road king from beginning and love them.

You're liable to get 20 different answers. I just went with Kury Iso grips and am likin' them.

Only 20? Ha. Yeah, for sure. All of the "what do you like" stuff is really just to get some ideas of course.

I've read many good reports on the HD Get A Grip....BUT, I have to say- I installed a set before my tour this summer. They started binding/sticking in about 4-5k miles. Have never had a grip on a HD do that before these. Also, the endcap started coming off- maybe by how I hold the grip when I mount the bike, but....I will never buy grips w/ endcaps like that again.

I ended up returning them as the throttle side was falling apart w/ the endcap coming off.

Other bike has the Kuryakyn Iso Grips w/ the throttle boss. I complained about the throttle being too loose earlier in the summer (jiggly), but w/ the HD one binding up (sticking/not rotating), I'm now "happy" to have the looser Iso grip. The throttle boss is awesome too. They are also high quality.

I do like the HD grips have the cam so no glue is needed....but not a fan of many of the grips they offer currently. Maybe see something I like in the next X months for my '12.

Yeah, on the old RK, I loved those bulging "Vintage" grips but eventually swapped out for Performance Machine grips that went better with the Carlini 14" Apes I had on there...they were great as well. Not hard to find comfortable grips so it's as much about fitting the look of the bike as anything...for me at least.

I love my PM grips. Grips are like seats though. Every hand is different. I love my corbin, Swapped bikes with a buddy and he hated it. I hated his mustang.
With meat hooks as big as you have might want to try bigger diameter grips

Yes...that is very true of the PM...they felt fine and looked cool but on long trips DEF felt the diameter was a bit small...and wrapping them in Duct Tape was not an option...ha. I think that's why I liked the "Vintage" HD grips way-back-when, they bulged out in the middle so much thicker in the hand (don't say it).

I like Performance Machine grips. Check out their XL model (come chrome and black):

One thing about the higher end/more expensive grips is that the clutch side stay on with set screw instead of getting glued, if you ever have to remove them.
