Road King Milwaukee 8 cold start problems.
After 5200kms my bike would surge between 1500 and 900 rpms two or three times when starting after sitting for a day. Went to purchase dealer and they said maybe a fuel mapping problem but no update yet. Next dealer said blue smoke on startup, on tech advice took apart top end and found piston rings aligned cylinders scored. Replaced pistons, ribgs, and cylinders under warranty. Still idle start issue so bringing back again. Anyone with similar problems? 2018 road King stock engine, three year warranty. Starts fine after that initial start but sometimes idle swings low enough to stall out, didn't do for first 5000 kms.

make a Video so you have proof of what its doing in case you have to escalate to regional manager.. I believe there is a flash ( at your or dealer expense ) to up the idle to 950 as the 850 setting was too low
and causing issues..

Made a video after getting bike back. Showed the service department before but maybe they will use the video with tech support. My idle is fine after I am riding only on cold engine start recently. First 5000 kms no issues and smooth riding. My bike only idles at 850 when warm at lights with cylinder shutoff and hasn't been a problem. My purchase dealer said had 20 other m8 owners complain about same issue but no update. Frustrating for a guy that expects a new bike to run well.
