I hate to admit this, but I'm only 5' 7.5" so I'm shorter than you . I have a 30" inseem and I love my Road King Classic. I can touch flat footed on it. I've recently changed out the stock seat for the big HD Pillow Look seat and still have no problems. I did have to change the handle bars because it made me lean over to reach the stock ones. You will need to do a few minor mods to make it feel like your bike (if you know what I mean).... but this thing rides like a dream. I have no regrets on getting this bike. Good luck

Great,At 5' 7" eveneveryone is taller than me, seriously I have a burly 1/2" lowering kit with a mustang 2 piece touring seat and with a good pair of riding boots I can flat foot. the only problem I have is trying to back up with a passenger on-board so they just wait until I get backed up before boarding .I have a set of progressive 440 12" shocks that will be here this week so the lowering kit will be coming off. My Indy say I could have went down to a 11 1/2" shock but I didn't want to drop it that much.

I'm 5'7 and 140 sopping wet. No problems handling my FLHT, just have to be careful not to park ponteddownhill. I got real good at judging grades, I can spot the slightest uphill grade from 30 feet away. I do have the screamin eagle electra glide seat, which is lower than the overstuffed couch that came with the bike. You'll get along with a RK or any of the touring bikes, and wonder why you ever rode anything else.

I'm about 6'1" and started on a Dyna Wide Glide. Also bought a Road King about 2 years later because we got a good deal on one from a guy that was going to get raked over the coals by his local stealer. The height did seem like I was sitting up much further, but I attribute a lot of that to the much wider rider's seat which pushes your thighs out further and thus shortening your legs. My dad is about 5'8" though with abouta 30" inseam and has a EG Classic so we're familiar with this scenario. With the weight and size of the EG Classic at 5'8", there are times when he has some difficulty getting completely solid footing (he's in his 60s though also and his knees aren't the strongest anymore). He seems to be able to sit on my Road King and touch flat footed pretty well though. My wife is 5'2" and has problems touching on the RK pretty bad.She can almost comfortably flat foot my Dyna Wide Glide though. Again the seat width is the main thing hurting her ability to hold the RK up. You'd probably be OK on it like it comes, but honestly if you have any doubts after testing the bike I think that either using 1" lower rear shocks and/or a low and narrow profile seat will make you feel like you own the bike (and it doesn't own you). We're in the process now of putting the 1" shocks on my dad's EGC to help him have better footing with it. We're certain that it's going to help some, but if it's not enough, I'm going to try to find him a good deal on a used low narrow profile seat for it so that he's 100% comfortable with how the bike feels for him. Go to your local stealer first and just have the salesman let you sit on one and upright it. That should tell you a lot. You can also have the salesman hold the front bars and you can test taking your feet off the floorboards and putting them down flat. If your feet are down flat but you have very little bend at your knees and the bike doesn't feel 100% stable, you may want to consider one of the above options. Best of luck in your endeavors, I know you'll love the Road King!

Drelkor, if you are unable to find a seat that works with your pop, check out www.meancitycycles.com , and talk to Allen. He is the owner, and a forum member. He will hook it up for your pop, and probally will be cheaper than buying a whole new seat. IMO

Thanks for the tip on that PapaTravis! That sounds like exactly what he's looking for. I should be able to have them move him forward a little bit and down an inch or 2 and he should be much more surefooted with it.

Have you had a seat done there? Was wondering how much better the memory foam is? From the sound of it, that sounds like the better way to go.

drelkor, not yet. I didn't find out about Allen until riding season had begun here in NM. I did contact him and what he can do for me and prices. Since I have only the one seat, and do not wish to miss any riding time, I told him he will have my seat in the Fall/winter, when the weather turns nasty. His turn around is short, but I don't want to miss any time riding. If you were to do a search on the forum, you can read some reviews. He using the best stuff available, from what I have read. And like I said, I have not read one single complaint about his work, not one. That is enough for me to trust that he knows what he is doing. BadX is Allen's screen name on the site. Drop him a line. I am sure this is exactly whatyour popwill need to get a little more sure footed.

I have a 97 Road King Police bike. I'm 5'9" and my problem came when I installed passenger floor boards on.
Even when folded up they keep my legs apart so that I find it difficult to back up. By the way, the cop seat was very comfy but I think it was designed with six footers in mind. First thing to get changed!
