Any personal testimony on best place for a powder coat wheel exchange? Would like to swap out the 28 spoke Knuckle Wheels. I think the wheels in stock form are not much to look at but gloss black or chrome really pops on these wheels!
the old bearings have to come out otherwise the seals (if any) will melt, any grease will also liquefy and migrate, and then there is the metallurgy problem of heating the bearings and having the hardness change.... probably going away ( annealing) from being heated in the oven,
You do want to make sure there are quality bearings going back in, there is some real crap out there on the market, including some of the stuff the MoCo put in OEM.
When I was getting one of ,my alloy swing arms done there was quite a bit of time put into looking at the characteristics of the material and how much heat it could take ( parts are baked ) before there would be issues

I used ***** Shiny for my wheel exchange and recommend him highly. Great power coating and service. I also used him for forks legs and cow bell exchange.
What type of bearing does he use? I think I’m gonna go with *****
I know on the Impeller wheels they use "All *****"; however, they do not mention which one for your wheel. Would imagine that they use All ***** there too.
Here is my knuckles done in \"black magic" locally. Powder coat was $85 I only did the rear to help reduce the appearance of brake dust. Turned out exceptionally well in my opinion.
