my son informed me yesterday that he wants to get back into riding so being the good dad I found what seems to be a good deal on a 2004 ultra and as of right now that’s all I know until I hear from the seller. My question is what inherent problems do I need to look for don’t even know the mileage at this point just getting some ideas as to what I might have go upgrade seeing I do most of the wrenching around here
By that point the twin cams were pretty well sorted out. Cam chain tensioners is all i can think of. Id check the engine mounting system too. At that age the rubber isolators are possibly dry rotted or worn out depending on mileage.
Thanks fellas I found out that there is 67000 on the clock at some point a 96 big bore kit was put in it had v&h two in one header and it’s an Electra glide with added uc accessories kenwood stero and quick disconnect tour pack and the guy wants 5000
I have an 01. Since new. 110,000 on it. MILES. Wiring stretched and broke under tank. Common I'm told. Relays rotted at connectors going to fusebox. Other than regular maintenance it has been great other than that.

it most likely will need work based on mods and miles. personally I would by a newer bike with less miles. JMO. there are lots of used bikes especially up north with 25k miles or less for close to $5-8k.
