Perhaps that is why no Amazon or Ebay providers show any "after" pictures of the beam projected on a wall.
Everyone seems to have provided some pretty good info here. I just started researching lighting for my new bike within the past couple of weeks, so this is all very good. I too stumbled across Paradise Lights and was intrigued, but your information has me giving pause. Which is good. I am not in the buying mode just yet, and will look more into those videos you were referencing when i get a bit closer. I had an Amazon LED unit in my sportster that worked way better than my stock unit. And before researching, I was just going to get a sealed unit for my new bike from HogWorkz, CD, or some others. Then I stumbled across the drop ins and here we are. My question to you is, if HR doesn't sell a single drop in, or it doesn't work with your Road King (I have a RK as well), what will you go with??

The way I see their results, there are only two choices, for the drop in, it is the GTR Ultra Gen 3 which appears to have the beam that most closely resembles the one projected by halogen bulb, but MUCH brighter. I don't like the idea of $239 for a pair, but at least I would automatically have a spare. This bulb appeared to have a more controlled and proper beam than even the purpose designed and built sealed units. The sealed unit is a big surprise. The Vision X Chrome single at $419 (OUCH!) provided a much better beam than either the JW Speaker or Truck-lite offerings. It includes a (USELESS) halo which I wouldn't bother hooking up. Considering the price difference I would try the drop ins first. Depending on where else money has to go, I may never do anything, but if I make the jump the GTR bulbs will be what I try, even if I have to buy 2. When YOU are getting ready to decide, I urge you to view their videos and make your own evaluation, obviously, it is your money and you will have to live with your decision. As an aside, right or wrong, I ASSUME (you know what they say about that) that every reflector made for a specific halogen bulb will perform the same way with a properly engineered replacement. Filament size and placement should be to a close tolerance. In other words, whether the reflector comes from a Harley of a Honda made for THE SAME BULB, they should be consistent in beam formation. The variation would be in how much room behind the reflector there is for the LED heat sink or fan assembly.

Yea. I will definitely watch the videos. I have the 4" running lights on mine too, so I would have to buy those. I may just be better inclined to buy the sealed units. Again, my amazon light was so much better at letting my see further at night, than my stock light. So I will have to decide what I want to do. But thanks for posting your thoughts. Definitely some good info. And if you decide to buy any bulbs, update us and let us know what route you went.
