I'd check it out if I was ready but, I won't be until this coming spring.

i don't see that as a 'crazy' sale. kbb lists trade in in the $15,650 range and retail in the low $19's. it's definitely a plus that the bike only has 700 miles on it, but that is also going to add it's own set of issues. sitting for 2 years, may not have been enough time for the seals to harden and leak, but will still require a good going over.

With 2500 miles an M8 could be on it's second engine, literally. I wouldn't buy a used 2017-2018 M8 model; HD STILL doesn't have a handle on it and we're into the 2019 model year. I know of forum members who were early M8 adopters and railed on every "I have a problem" thread. Then they had trouble themselves and quietly sold off and slipped out. You have to wonder how many of these 1st and 2nd year bikes are being sold by frustrated owners who want to be done with them. That hurts the value of used 2017-2018 bikes, perception is reality.

Thanks I didn't know that. I'm not up on the M8 issues. I'm sure not all the M8 of that period were defective but, yea this does small a bit fishy.

Not bad i had one like that but it was blue traded it back for my current ride i thing its price high i wouldn’t pay that for that year. Try and get the price down to maybe 17,000 still high but its better then 19,000 hell never get that much for his bike.

I have a 2004 RK Classic with less than 10,000 miles that still runs great. Keep it or trade up to a newer RK? After reading this post I am leary of the 8 valve 17-18 models and have not heard anything favorable on the older 103's either. What is the best engine and cruiser model?

If you're looking to trade 'up' then go for a 2009 or newer as they have the newer frame and wider rear tire. As for the difference between the 96 and 103, the cylinders are bored out for the bigger pistons and will have a bit more torque for highway riding. I may be wrong on this but I think the 103 comes stock with an oil cooler. Some say the adding a stage 1 to a 96 may 'bring it up' or even barely surpass a a 103 but that's just from things I read on here but I'm sure there is a lot of truth to it.

I have a 2009 with a 96 and love it. New frame, no cat without a huge price tag. I almost went with a 2012 but didn't see enough difference to justify the cost. My next upgrade will be to an M8 but going to wait a few more years for reasons already mentioned.
