Today was the first day I rode my 05 RK at temps around 50 degrees. While that may not be considered cold, it is cooler than any other time I've ridden the bike.
Anyway, when I started the bike, I noticed a "miss" when I accelerate the throttle. The bike took a good fifteen minutes of running before it felt "normal".
In addition to the "miss", the bike stalled about 5 minutes into riding. After that it was OK.
I have a PCIII with Stage 1 AC, SE slip on pipes, and the alleged appropriate download. I added +20 fuel in the 0% throttle column from 1000 - 4000 RPM to eliminate the popping od decel I was getting.
Don't think it's the EFI. I ride my 05 Ultra everyday. I start it and idle down my 1500 ft drive. From start to street it's about 2 minutes warm up. Then I ease her up into 3rd and hold her between 35 and 40 for 4 miles before hitting the freeway. I'ts been down to 22 deg in the morning and I've got over 8K miles since I picked her up 6/24. Runs smooth. However, mine is 100% stock.
I've thought about changing pipes but I keep seeing posts about fuel economy and performance. Especially using the downloads with anything but stcok. I'd like a bit more power but overall I'm very happy.
I've been thinking of reverting the bike back to stock. I made the mistake of never riding the bike stock, since I took the bike out of the dealership with the stage 1 upgrades. I've since added the PC III because I was getting excess popping.
I'm not too sure all these changes are beneficial to the bike.
I have an 04 RK EFI completely stock. i have never (13,000 miles) had a problem as you had regardless of temp. Bad gas? I only use premium. I let it warm up (2 min) while I put on my gear.
