to each their own. Well unless you’re a suspension expert and know how to adjust shim packs and all that then by all means. I don’t know that and Howard does and they work great and he was great to work with and I love how the ohlins and reservoir looks and feels. That’s the nice part of our own money we get to enjoy it how we like. And correct they don’t make a #6 but everyone on here knows what I meant and that they’re the hd357
i wasnt knocking people who buy from moto metal, its just not for me. While not an expert, everything you ever wanted to know is a read away. When we raced karts, there were the guys who paid to have theirs set up and there were guys who learned and did it themselves. The guys who payed their way were really good on a couple tracks. The guys who learned were good on most or all.

I feel you. I can def read and educate my self but still doesn’t make me the best at setting something up. Sometimes I default to the “pros”

ya, thats why i made the reference to the learners being good vs the buyers being really good.
id say this is like a dyno. Find a dealer who works on the stuff near you and go through them. That will save downtime when you have an issue or want to make a change. Theres something to be said for being able to conduct this kind of business in person.

Not to mention Howard was also cheaper than any other place i looked for Ohlins. And you got his lovely personality for free
I never said that and we werent talking about an engine that has alot more parts, requires some special tools, and costs way more. Your comparison is like a gun to a knife.
No its not - Howard's Ohlins are custom built, like a custom-built engine (or anything else worth having), not shox in a box.
If I was to do it again, I would consider Ohlins again but I would also consider Pro Action seriously. They seem like a class operation...I’m not sure I would look further. As said earlier several times, all will bean upgrade over stock shock and front suspension.

At long last we Harley owners have access to genuinely good quality suspension - and choice. Ring the bells in celebration. OK, a kazoo will have to do....

You are so right, Its too bad the PERSONALITIES and level of ARROGANCE that comes with buying a product isn't equally as refreshing.
