I never ordered any seperate controller for the Bag Blades. With the lights came a Y harness. You unplug factory rear harness, plug in the ciro harness in, then replug in the factory harness(which you likely have your CD plasma rods wired too) into the top of the ciro plug. Then they other 2 ends of the Ciro Y harness go to the bag lights. Easy when you see it, hard to type a description. lol.

I ordered kit #40028 for 97-13. Worked perfect. I see there is another kit for 10-13, I didn't check to see what the difference is, I guess whatever that controller thing is about.

Seems they have 2 bag blades options, if you get just the red, no module needed. If you get the amber/red you need the module. Also different options for 2014 and up, which is what I have....13 down are different.

For some reason I thought yours was a 10 or 11. Got myself mixed up reading other posts I guess. Only 47, with a touch of Alzheimers somedays I'm sure. You'll like the Blades, and I'll think people will see you better for sure. Cheers

I believe you are on the right track.... FWIW... glad you listened to your riding partners...

Too many people are more worried about looks versus function. There CAN BE a blend of both.

Been riding on the street since 1976..... It is a different world today... many more cages on the road, and many more distracted drivers by everything from cell phones, texting, alcohol, drugs, you name it.... Being seen is far more important today than it ever was....

About 10 years ago, I redid my bikes... no more small, blacked/smoked out lenses that looked cool. Everything now is OEM size with LED bulbs, minimum. My bagger has tour pak LEDs and CD Fillerz between the bags and the fenders....

No guarantees I won't be hit, but at least I've done all I could..

Good luck with your decision....

Is your rear fender curved or flat?? Custom Dynamics has the LED plate frames that work really well. I am selling a brand new one right now in the FS section if you're interested. Otherwise, I do like the bag lights.

#1 problem they mount to the bags therefore you have to remove the seat and unplug the wires every time you remove the bags. Ok so that is not so bad but.... #2 the sun washes them out, they are not any brighter than the plasma rods I have on the rear now. True my bike is Amber Whiskey and is very bright in direct sunlight. These were not the answer to my solution. Returning them. Decided to put the stock fender and lighting back on and add a Streached Rear Fender Extension. I had the dual tri-bar light anyway. So it looks Like I will be selling a BD fender! Antway it will look like the picture below in a couple of weeks, Like I said everyone I ride with have the stock lights on the rear and can be seen.

I have had a similar experience when I have taken my tour pack off but I did add saddlebag lights to mine just as an extra precaution - I have seen these on the Street Glide Specials, think its the Tri-Bar lights?

dunno - I really think the driver was not paying attention and no matter how many lights or even how loud we make our pipes as riders we're always going to encounter those type of situations unfortunately. Hope you find a solution to your ask...
