Default Regrets/I wish...

Based on your current ride and what you know now vs. when you bought your bike, what changes would you have made?

I ride a 2012 SG. I bought this bike with and for my dad back on July 3, 2012 . I rode my bike and he rode his old WG (from the 70's) to ST. Louis to his parents grave. He passed a few months after that from cancer. Anyway, I knew I wanted a touring bike, thus the reason for the purchase. Years later, I'm no longer in love with the SG. I put alot of $$$ into it for silly reasons, such as audio. I haven't even turned the damn thing on in over a year.

Knowing what I know now, I wish I would have went with a Road King. Stripped down of all the BS and just a strong riding beast. I've been eyeing a 2017 at a local shop that they're selling for $15,900 but I don't know if I want to start all over (exhaust, apes, etc). I'm about to put cams in my current ride. But, again, I wish I would have followed what he suggested way back then in keeping it simple.

Sorry guys, just sitting here thinking of the old mean bastard. lol.

I always will own HD and a few others.
I truly thought the F6B GW or the Rocket 3 would fit the bill for an alternate bike.
I bought the GW and have found that the one riding position so Sucks.
Truly I wish I had bought the Rocket!
I will get one Next time.
That did not go the way you thought it would, did ya!

The past will always beat inside of you like a second heart! Always remember he is in a better place. Be strong brother.

As far as regrets go, wish I had a well thought out vision, and stuck with it. I’ve spent a lot of money re-doing things and taking one step forward and two steps back haha. Unfortunately, I have come to find out that’s a costly mistake on HD’s.

I wouldn't have bought a different bike for sure. I would've taken a GOOD riding course and exam, considering my time away from 2 wheels.

Regrets? I don’t really think I’ve got any.

That said, there are a number of changes I’ve tried and didn’t really like, so I went back. They didn’t cost me a fortune, and none irrevocably changed the bike. So their “failure” were more educational than regretful.

Corbin Solo close seat, which isn’t. Nostalgic saddlebag bars that get right in the way of the buckles. Cutting down my old windshield, which banged my head around worse. Pretty brake rotors that made my bike sound like a giant cicada. Stuff like that.

Absolutely no regrets on the bike except for not doing some upgrades earlier...07 FLHTC with just over 100k...

None, really. Maybe I'd have waited it out for the certain color I liked the best for that model year- but the dealer was motivated to sell the color I ended up with- so I got a very nice discount.
The color I really liked was another $1000 and the couple they had on the floor were already sold. An extremely minor thing.
