there is....take em off one at a time and add some metal to the bends with a welder...you know, brace the stress areas with big globs of weld and metal
It's call a Road Glide [sm=happybounce.gif]just kidding! I'd wrap a piece of 1/8" flat stock around the problem area, weld the break like Bryan said then gusset it with the flat stock and weld it, that should solve the problem, ortry Road Glide option, same color though because it's KILLER!!! Sharp bike fryeca, when you're ready to do the I-Pod thing givemy mountsa look
Just got my bike back this week. Both brackets were broken and chapped my wires. 6 in all had to be heat shinked. Not a good situation when these brackets break and skin up your wiring.
Funny how the dealership has never heard of these common problems.
I too have a blown memory fuse. Replaced it and it worked for a few minutes.
thought I had it fixed so I didn't watch it closely. Not sure if it blew when I started it or turned on the switch - maybe even rode it. Get some more fuses and try to isolate the failure point.
Put in a new battery (HD) recently - how could taking off the seat, as someone asked, be a problem?
Radio memory fuse blew on my 07 ultra. Used the forum advice. Pulled the Fairing and found a very small frayed wire on the radio line just as the forum suggested. A little electrical tape and it is good to go! Thank you forum!!!
Hey just saw your post and I have a very problem with mine too but I just installed a brand new radio and I am not using the factory radio at all and I am still blowing fuse but it only happens when i hit the turn signal, 3 fuses blow, radio power, radio mem, and accy fuse can anybody point me in the right direction
My radio went dead a couple of days ago, I found the Radio MEM (memory) fuse had blown. I went to the dealer and they said that they had never heard of that fuse going before? They gave me a couple of spare fuses just in case it blew again.
Well it blew again; and again. Doesn't matter if the bike is running or sitting overnight in the garage. It doesn't go right away, seems to take about a day then BAM!
Anyone else have a similar problem or fix?
Hey did you ever figure out what the issue was? My 07 StreetGlide is doing the same thing and I looked behind the fairing and couldn't find anything. Let me know please I'm at a loss
