IMO, blacked-out looks best on a solid or flat color bike that has no metallics in the paint. If your bike has a metallic or pearl paint job, go with the chrome!

Which ever way you decide to go, if you put on a lot of miles, consider the difference in longevity for chrome vs black on the fork lowers. With over 500k on my FXRT and 150k on my Roadglide, (both blacked out), I can tell you I'm glad I left the fork lowers chrome. Plus, it makes a nice contrast.
