Slowly blacking out my Laguna Orange roadglide. Going with contrast parts for some depth. Tank console and some tourpak parts getting powdercoated now. Still need the back wheel and the fender struts.

I would go with chrome I tend go in the opposite of whats trending .....the black lower fork legs look grey as the aluminum changes the hue of the color on the lower legs that I’ve seen, as least stock Harley ones maybe the aftermarket companies got it figured out.

As a deviation from the norm, why not have pieces powder coated a custom color. No one ever said you have to go black or chrome and that's it. Look at prismaticpowders.com and see what suits you. I did my fxdls wheels a dark grey with heavy metallic and really made the bike pop.

@99Birdman mentioned in a post about the longevity of the black powder coat vs chrome. This is something that I am concerned about but have not got a straight answer. How does the black hold up vs the chrome? My bike is denim grey so I think the black would look great but not interested if it doesn't hold up.

I blacked out my 05 EGS with the forks, engine guard, saddlebag guards and a few others. Back then at least it had held up pretty well (had it about 5 years with the blacked out), when I sold it the guy who bought it thought it looked almost new.

Hopefully quality hasn’t dropped that much.

I vote chrome, it's harder to clean, but it looks better
