Why wouldn't HD sell a simple rebuild kit for these calipers ? Thieving bastards are trying to make you buy new ones for $900.

Yea that sure wasn't happening!! Figured I'd try this & had good test ride and also just went out to check after several hours & caliper is dry. No drips so far.

More than likely some deal between Brembo & HD. You used to be able to buy the seals directly from QTM (supplier to Brembo). I bought them when converting to Brembos on my 2002 FLH. QTM will no longer sell the seals. There are many threads with cross reference to the seals from other brands, Honda & KTM if I recall correctly.
I run dot 5 in my Brembo's (as do several others) after disassembly and cleaning. Works fine.

You can buy new take off's and good used ones all over for very good prices.

Yes but for $18 it was worth a shot, nothing was wrong with the caliper or pistons themselves, just the seals.

That is a chrome caliper kit (2 calipers) from HD. Any of their chrome plated stuff is way over priced. The normal black calipers are $218 each.
You were right to get the seal kit. Quick and easy.

Mine are chrome, the PO upgraded so much stuff I don't know whats stock & what is aftermarket. Had a fun time with the flush mount front axle when removing the rim the first time. Needed a 7/32" Allen head socket & totally snapped it off. Cheap harbor freight crap. They replaced it at least.

After reading all this are we to assume that the stock rubber parts are not compatible with Dot 5. Even after flushing out all the Dot 4 ?
