I am about 6'2" I bought the Harley tinted tall windsheild and I really cant tell much differance I keep looking over the top it seem to hit me just barley above eye leveland I want to look through no over.. Also the tinted windsheild seems to have a distortion when you look at the side when turning it seems to look you are looking through a curved glass ,also bad chrome reflection just below eye level. Anybody else experiance this, or did I get a bad windsheild.I was looking at the Clearview windshild any feed back on what size , would the 24" be too tall, anybody use their tinted . Thanks for the help.
I put a 4 inch shorter shield on my RK just so I could look over it. Looking through the shield sucks, especially when riding into the sun with a few bug splotches on it.
I agree - I'm 6'3" and I went a little shorter so I could look over. You get a little wind through your hair, but most of the bugs and debris goes over you. Just my $.02
In the Harley P&A catalog, they state you should just look over the top. Some say that the windshield should come up to the tip of your nose. The recurve Clearview seems to be a good option. You have to wait for it, they are either so slammed they can't buld them fast enough or they only build to order. I plan to go with one myself when finances permit it.
IMHO you should be looking over the windshield not through it. Clearview has a pretty good explanation of why and how to obtain the optimum height. Of course one size doesn't fit all. Both my shields are sized to give me the 2" over rule and it is very comfortable. I am 6'2" also.
I traded my 2" taller sheild for the 4" shorter it was the only choice they had for shorter than standard. Test rode last night , what a differance it made I didnt have to fight the glare of windsheild was really nice, but I got some wind so I used some info from this site and cut my stock windsheild 2 inches , great info on cutting cant even tell it was cut, test rode perfect love looking over the sheild. Thanks for all the info.
