Hammock here as well, backrest as well, best combo for me. Girlfriend is comfy, nestled in the tourpack arm rest. We added sheep skins and use them on long trips. Longest days are 650 or so miles, but we normally average 340 per day when drifting, 270 per day when stopping a lot in National Parks, or wanting to get to a pool before 3PM.
one good benefit of the hammock is the way it handles bumps. It basically eliminates sudden jarring. Helps a lot with rough road riding.
We used the Harley loan a seat program with our dealer. Tried the Mustang copy, the CVO seat, then the hammock. We were gone 6 hours with the hammock and if it didn't say something like demo stenciled on it, we probably still not be back. Very short break in period on a new one, not more than several hours.
Im going to disagree this time I bought a Hammock seat and it was better than a stock Road Glide special seat but I don't think it is as good as what Harley puts on the Ultra Limited, any way I got an air cushion and with a back rest I can stay in the saddle all day pretty easy.
