The Electra Glide Std is a great bike but after a year of riding I woud like to strip it down. After looking at Road Kings (which seem to have the same frame/forks with differet lighting and instrument hardware)it seems the conversion would be fairly straight forward in terms of removing the Bat Wing, finding a headlight platform (Road King or Softtail..or?)and some kind of forks skirt, risers and a drag bar...I plan to retain only the speedo so the unused wiring can all get stuffed into the headlight or skirt hardware.

Anyone done this retro?..any advice?

Before you do, put a 95" kit and stereo in it--then decide.

And if you use the "search" function at the top of the page you will find at least a couple of EG to RK conversions.

 

Talk to Harley0711 on this forum. He turned his Electra Glide into a Road Glide. He is cruising around Alaska for the next week, I hooked up with him yesterday.
