Took the bike out yesterday for its first ride of the season after being on a tender all winter it was a little hard starting I noticed the volt gage at speed just above 14 volts. Rode again today and it started a little slow. Now it’s a 2010 ultra with amp upgrade and this will be the seventh season on this one. Trying to find the cca’s needed and what’s a good choice
I like the Deka or Yuasa personally. That said, I got almost ten years out my HD battery and changed it just because I didn’t want to get stranded. I have a Deka in there now and on its second season so I’ll see how this one goes.
Thanks guys the first factory battery only lasted 2 years the replacement I put in 7 years ago just can’t remember where I got it I know it wasn’t at the dealer
Really happy with the Duracell Ultra from batteries plus. Bought the more expensive American made one, stronger terminals. $10 rebate going on now, 2 year warranty.
Just replaced my 2 year old OEM battery because it was showing signs that it was on its way out. I’ve read glowing reviews about the Big Crank battery so I got one. Works great so far and it was about $60 less than the HD battery.
I have found the best ( and only) battery that works in HD motorcycles are HD batteries from the dealer
Even the DEKA batteries don't seem to work well or last long.... and DEKA makes them for HD.... go figure!
The posts will be right, no mickey mouse connections that will overheat and melt the post/lead
It just isn't worth the BS vs what little savings you think you are getting
HD batteries aren’t any different than the Deka batteries that they actually are. Only difference is HD puts their sticker on it and charges more money for it.
Just replaced both bikes batteries. My wife’s heritage battery left us down twice at the end of last year, so I bought the Yuasa for hers, since i have always had good luck with those.
I though WTH, mine is pushing 5 yers old, so I decided to replace mine as some cheap insurance. Was planning on getting a Yuasa for mine, but they were temporarily out of stock, so I bought a Deka.
If I remember correctly the CCA on the Yuasa was 500, and the Deka matched the stock HD battery with 400 CCA.
