My 2001 FXD came with an AGM. Got 5 years out of it and might have gotten another 1 or 2 if the stator didn’t fry.

Even the DEKA batteries don't seem to work well or last long.... and DEKA makes them for HD.... go figure!

The posts will be right, no mickey mouse connections that will overheat and melt the post/lead

It just isn't worth the BS vs what little savings you think you are getting

Harley batteries are good but marked up like all Harley items. I find Yuasa lasts just as long or longer for a lot less money, never a problem. Harley does not have or make their own batteries, they buy them from someone else like we do, put a Harley sticker on it and mark it up.

I've found most ETX-30L batteries are made bye the same company *DEKA* who makes the MOCO's batteries. Your just going to pay MUCH more buying at the stealer than you would pay at NAPA or even Oreilly Auto Parts or the BIG Crank on Amazon that are in fact ALL the same. at 400cca batteries. Battery life is greatly impacted by use, care and environment. My stock battery got slow after 5 years so i threw in a Super Start from Oreilly and its never started better. I've never owned a motorcycle battery that lasted under 4 years. I tender it every time i get off it.

I agree. There was nothing accurate in that post.

And I wouldn't say the savings are little. I just bought the Big Crank Amazon battery, with tax came in just under $120. The same HD branded battery at my dealer costs over $180 with tax, so I "saved" at least $60 not buying the HD branded one.

That the HD branded batteries are somehow superior to the non HD branded ones made by the same company is total BS.

I used to buy Yuasa brand for my sportbike and it worked awesomely. I hope it's the same for my cruiser as it's time to replace the stock battery.
