had one, it failed while under warranty- went out like someone threw a switch- dead!
had to buy a walmart battery to get home.
new odyssey goes in ( free replacement) last a few months and dies
the walmart battery goes back in...( I still had it in the garage)
was able to convince the store to give me store credit rather than a 3rd odyssey that might die.
battery store guy says that odyssey doesn't like trickle charger...maybe that's why the second one died ( first one they think failed internally due to vibration).
I have been using H-D to good result. next one will likely be the deka
my buddy swears by his odyssey battery in his softail..i know he has replaced it at least 3 times in the last 7 years.so i dont know..i have had pretty good luck with harley batterys
Still have stock battery in my 04 FLHT....so thats what 6-7 years! I do keep a tender on it but this year it somehow got unplugged!!! :-( I just found it 2 days ago,So with a brutal Chicago winter i figured this battery would be trash....Plugged tender back in just to see and it took a full charge!!!.....Dayum gotta say thats a hell of a testimonial to HD Batteries!!(Not to say there arn't others just as good or better for the money) ............o~`o......
If you read the Odessey website about theyre batteries, you will see they say not to use a standard trickle charger to maintain the battery. You need to use one of Odesseys chargers.
I have PC925 and have had no issues using the charger they recomend
I'm not a believer in giving Odessey all that money. Not sure I need a super duper battery, I just need one that start the bike when I hit the switch. My harley battery lasted 7 years in my '02 w/ a battery tender. I bought another regular gel battery (AGM?), although not a harley one. That battery is now 2 years old, it has a 48 month warranty.
