No, only certain models had the badging. RK was one of them (maybe the only one? I dont recall).

Don't mean much, but the 03 turns better at parking lot speeds. I would buy that one for 3 grand less.

If the cam chain tensioner was done, then the 03 is the better bargain. I would certainly take it to a trusted shop and have them look it over, but, given the two, for ME, the choice is simple. 03 all day long.

How are you going to use it? Cross-country and long trips get the 09. Bar hopping and day trips get 03. I have an 09 Roadking and a 00 FXDX dyna with the same motor as the 03. Both have seen both coasts. The 09 gets you fuel injection, cruise control, and 6th gear. Together just those upgrades are worth $3k on long road trips.

03 has fuel injection and cruise control.
the 6th gear was added in 07 I believe. So, that model should have 2 of those 3 items. I have na 02, and have both. I think EFI came out in 2000 or 01.

I wouldn’t be afraid of the “03” with miles that low either, as long as it does not need a bunch of other stuff. I do really like having the six speed on the highway, have not had a chance to use the cruise yet other than to see if it works, if your mostly riding local and money is tight, go for it. But if you can afford it and you plan on keeping the bike for a while and maybe some distance trips, maybe the a newer model would be better, there are a shi! ton of bikes out there, don’t settle for what your not happy with. I rented a uhaul trailer and went four hours to get mine, glad I did.

I was just browsing cycle trader to see what the going price for that year was (the 03), and with that low mileage, it looks like a good deal. I think the average is about $6k, with higher mileage, depending on a few different things. Anniversary badging adds a grand or so to it.
My buddy just traded his 2000 RKC, sight unseen (but he took good care of it) for $4k in trade on a 14 street glide. His bike had about 35kish miles.
Honestly, I would go with the 03. If you decide to trade up in a couple years, depending on what you put on for mileage, you could probably get what you paid for it now.

Beating my brain up over this, I live in California and prices suck seriously here.

Its a nice riding bike, and you save 3k.....that can get you a good seat, maybe a new windshield if you want it. Hell, you can even take that 3k and do a cam upgrade, and you then have a 96!
Still a 5 speed though .

I can only speak from my point of view here, and others have differences of opinion. I bought my 02 3 years ago, and have logged over 20k on it. I bought it with 22k, and its at 46k now. I have a different seat on it than stock, lower shocks (I have a short inseam), and an emergency push start piezo on the starter. The cam upgrade, bigger air filter, and V&H pipes. I am totally in love with my bike. Mine is the classic model, but everything is the same except wheels (mine are spokes) and the saddle bags. I think for the 5k, you're getting a good deal. The tensioner is done, and that saved you $1500 right there.
Here is a pic of my girl:

Get one with two wheels that’s calling out your name.

I went with an 09 for the frame upgrade and wider rear tire. 130’s look skinny on a bagger 180’s look just about right.
