Short guy on a 2017 RG with a low seat, HD P52000142. I have healed boots that gives me almost 2 inches. I can just about get flat footed. I'm looking for suggestion for another inch that won't break the bank. Thanks in advance.
I'm not sure what amount will brake your bank, but his was a win/win (height/ride) for me and well worth the cost (for me). I ditched the 13 inch stock shocks and upgraded to the 12 1/4" PAs from DK Customs. It made a world of difference.
is your roadglide a custom or an ultra? if it is an ultra, then you've got the 13'' shocks, and can get a little more purchase if you go with stock 12'', or aftermarket shocks which will sit at the same height but give you more travel.
also, you don't have to be able to flatfoot, regardless of what anyone tells you. just make sure that you maintain good situational awareness when you go into parking lots so you aren't trying to push a 900 lb bike uphill. i'm 5'4'', with a 28'' inseam and have never had a touring bike that I can flatfoot.
Getting another inch would help. I can get flat footed if the road under me is flat. In New England that is't always possible. Last year I gassed up my Dyna and exited 90 degrees to a hill and I had to stop for traffic. Holly cow I almost went over. It took everything I had to keep Bobby up. Pissed me off and felt really embarrassed. I don't gas up there anymore. LOL..
