I put the Harley 12" rear shocks on my EGC and yes it is noticeable when you sit on it, I also lowered the front and it really makes a difference in the way that it handles when you drop the ctr of gravity an inch, especially when you are 5'7. If you are thinking about rear shocks take a look at progressive 440s as they are excellent. And you really can't notice the one inch drop visually.

I have an 03 Classic and the front and back have been lowered an inch. Even though I bought my bike used from a friend who already had this done, I've sat and rode on several stock height Classics and IMO, it makes a difference. I'm 5'9 and it gives me a little more stability. I couldn't say it makes a difference in looks or performance though. I would recommend it.

Do the progressive 440s hook up to the air system, or are they set to one level and thats what you ride with all the time. Just wondering how it would ride when solo, and then 2 up and fully loaded. Are there shorter air shocks available ?

FYI - there are many threads on this question that you should be able to pull up through a search. You can find lots of detail & opinions from others, including myself

I used a 1 1/2" lowering bracket on my RKC & its noticeable sitting on it as well as looking at it if you're familiar w/RK's. 2 up riding is fine - although I have bottomed out out occasionally. 1" bracket is recommended for those who do lots of 2 up riding.

Lowered the back with these. Great Price. Better handling for me and looks good.
