Default Compression release
Recently my cam box when out. I was doing about 85 when it went. It appears my valves closed up and my ACR for both heads either blew out or got stuck open. Is there a fix for this or do I need to fork out the cash to replace them? I’m fairly new at this and do my own work. Thanks ( pic is finished work for attention)

What does it mean for a Cam Box to go out?

Broken Tensioner? Oil Pump? Chain? Sprocket?

yea, both tensioner went out. Replaced that and crank gear on primary cam chain, bearings in support plate, and secondary cam chain. No broken or bent valves. But no compression.

You are not trying to start it as is in the picture are you? Valves are going to stay closed without the push rods.

I wouldn’t be so sure that nothing got into the rest of the motor?? Did you drain your oil and look for debris?

I think you might want to check everything real good before firing it up.

Did you put the push rods back in already?

Not having had a good look at ACR's, I don't think they're going to 'stick open'.

I'm betting that you do, in fact, have bent valves but perhaps not visible to the naked eye. Maybe you did get super lucky and just have it out of time so the valves aren't closed when they need to be. This is all just conjecture...

Stock Motor and heads? I didn’t think that ACR’s were used until the 103 came out?

No, but did fire it up last night. She ran, but ran real bad. Idle was messed up and the original noise that prompted the tear down and caused issues in cams is still there. I’m lost

Got it fired up. Ran okay, idle fluctuated real bad, same noise I heard before cam tensioners went is still there.
