Yeah at 180 lbs you should be at zero turns. Passenger weight should never be factored into the set up of the front suspension. Have them reset it to zero. Follow up with the results.

Thanks Sandman. Appreciate the advice. It'll be a few weeks before I get it done but I'll get back on the thread
Idk? But the progressive stuff is barely a step up from factory and that ain’t sayin much...... I’d go with Legends or Pro-Action any day of the week over Progressive and twice on Sunday
IDK about your comparison of OEM to Progressive monotubes.
My experience on a Dyna with a Progressive springs upgrade and now my 03 Ultra with Progressive Mono Tube cartridges. I put a lot of miles on a '01 FXD with the Progressive springs and there was a very noticeable difference with the ride and handling right from the start. When I needed to upgrade the front tubes on my '03 Ultra, I chose the Progressive Mono-Tube cartridge kit and I am also experiencing a noticeable improvement with the ride and handling. The front suspension on both of these bikes are nothing at all like the OEM systems I replaced with Progressive systems.
You may prefer one over the other for whatever reasons, but Progressive kits DO what they claim in my experience.

I have had the progressive mono tubes (standard height) in my 2002 FLH (street glide form) for several thousand miles. I have never really liked them. They stiffened up the front but are just plain harsh on the nasty frost heaved upstate NY roads. I have played with spacers, oil weight etc. Some love them, some hate them. Recently they have started making a clunking sound after a particularly hard hit on a bridge expansion joint.

Just curious , how many clips are you running with the mono tubes?

I weigh 205-210. I initially started out with two per Progressive. Very harsh. Switched to one. Still very harsh on heaves or sharp edged bumps or a stretch of rough road. Not much dampening with these. Considering Axeo, Ohlins or a Race Tech set up. Liking the Axeo's the more I hear about them. Ohlins 13" Black Lines on the rear.

Yup, same story for me 2 clips, 1 clip. And same results as you! And what a pain tearing them down to change the stupid clips.
I always wondered how they would perform with zero clips? I certainly wasn't tearing them down a third time. I did read with no clips it lowers the front end some.
If you get the Axeo's leave them set up as is with zero preload.
