Default Front Shocks Knocking Noise

2018 SG and wondering what causes the knocking noise in the front shocks when you apply the front brake. You can hear it at low speeds.

Are you sure it's the shocks? Mine sounds like the pads are slapping into the rotors.

Pretty sure it's coming from the shocks.

Head bearings a little on the loose side will knock or clunk while braking, pad slap in the calipers will to after some wear.

I think that head bearing is probably where the noise is coming from. Is it worth bringing to the dealer to have them look at it?

I have the same thing on my 17 sg. I was hoping it was the brakes... I'm due for the steering head maintenance in a few thousand miles.

If you have floating rotors on your brakes, they will clunk the very first time you apply the brakes, but not again until you apply the brakes while walking the bike backwards. Then the cycle repeats.

I've noticed this as well. It is only the first time I apply the brakes.

Get a good forward speed going and apply the front brake hard and you will hear it.
