I have an iPhone X. I also have a 3" usb cord. With the phone plugged-in, I have to leave the cubby door open. I don't like it that way but no issues so far.

I use a 6' USB cable and put the phone in the RH bag. I never could figure out how to get the phone in the cubby when it's plugged up. Maybe my phone is too big, but I don't see how they even plan it for smaller phones.

If this is for music why not get an MP3 player?

Yeah, I didn't even pick up on the carplay comment. For that, I just loaded several hundred songs on a USB stick and plug it up. No phone in the mix and a USB stick is $12.

I like the fact that it is short. I want as little excess as possible hanging from the cubby hole.

My iphone is in a RAM X holder on the handlebar. When it starts to rain, it gets put in the cubby.

I have my iPhone X connected via a 1ft lightning cable with a right angle connector on the phone side. If I put the cable end in first (bottom of the phone), there are no issues getting the phone to fit.

Three questions: Where did you get the right angle connector? Will you please post a picture of it? Are you able to close the cubby door with the cable connected?
