Default Bump Stops

Bump stops...How do they work and can they limit rear shock travel on 11" rear shocks on a '19 SGS to limit travel and eliminate tire rub when 2-up?

I guess a question would be is there anything that can be done to eliminate tire rub on a lowered bike when rider and passenger load is significant (about 360 lbs)?

Stiffen up the shocks with adjustments.

I'll be trying my 11" Pro Action coil overs today with the little woman on for the first time since I got them last year. I'll be mindful of tire rub too.

I could be wrong but, a fully compressed suspension shouldn't result in tire rub, assuming everything is OE.

Edit: Didn't catch the 11" in the OP.

I have 11" Pro Action shocks on my RGS, and when my girl is riding with me tire rub was never a problem.
So I would think you would be fine also.
Enjoy your ride....

My 11" shocks are cranked all the way up (stiff). Doesn't seem to be stiff enough to minimize the travel. Obiously not much space between the tire an fender with the bike lowered and a heavy load.

The tire "feels" like it is rubing the plate below the fender where the back rest mounting bolts are. Not positive and very difficult to see in there to verify what the tire is hitting.

Investigating some other options. Hoping there is a cure with out putting the longer 12" shocks back on and having to be tippy toed when coming to a stop.

What is your combined weight?
How is the ride when you ride solo?
Do you make any adjustments between riding Solo and 2 up?

Combined weight around 315
I have two settings I use for shocks:
1 Riding solo
2 Riding 2 up and touring solo with bike loaded up

The difference between the two are 1-2 clicks with the adjustment screw

Here is Pro Action's video on tuning the shocks. At 8:05 He talks about 1-2up riding.
