great thanks, to put these on a 08 i saw the video on how to make the mounting brackets work. Do i need the rear fender extension to make it look right?

You may if you get the extended but not necessary. Depends on your tastes. Or just get the standard bags and not worry about it.

thats what i was thinking, but kinda thought the extended bags may give some extra room in the saddlebag, but honestly i imagine its not really adding any room inside the bags

I was able to get lucky, found a full set (lids/hardware/key) that was a brand new take off on eBay. Including shipping it was $900. Less than $600 for my local body shop to color match.

Be patient and you can find a deal.
