I'm 180lbs.

I adjusted them just a little from the way they arrived, but I don't remember which way or how many clicks/turns..

I put them on a 2016 Ultra Classic

When the wife and I are riding together on a trip, I think they are great, more importantly, the wife loves the ride...!

What are Öhlins 6s? I have a set of Ohlins HD 159 Blackline series with a preload, rebound, and height adjustment. I just checked their website I see no mention of a shock called a #6 or a #3.

RiderX, the #6 &#3 shocks are Howard's numbers for his custom configured ohlins. He is a sponsor of this forum. I still have not pulled the trigger on the #6 shocks. Everytime I get ready to I read about other options for shocks. I am going to Thunder in the Valley this weekend to try a set of pro-action shocks that DJ is bringing for me. If they don't work out then I will probably order the ohlins next week.

I'm not sure if these are 6's or 5's or 1-1/2's, but whatever they are, they are awesome!

As mentioned, those are the numbers Howard puts on the Ohlin shocks he sells, go to motorcyclemetal.com and you can see the breakdown...

I have the 13" Black Line Ohlins on my 02 FLH. I'm 210, GF is 155. I had the 27nm springs to start, changed to the 25nm springs. Solo, preload is all the way to the top (for 1" sag). Two up I adjust 6 full turns on preload to keep the 1" sag. Can't recall my rebound settings, will have to look. I always reset preload/sag for 1 or 2 up. It is a bit of a pain, that is my only complaint. There is a noticeable difference in the ride. Got lazy and didn't reset for 2 up recently. Pulled into a restaurant at a rally and really bottomed out on there driveway transition, lesson learned. I do try and keep the threads clean and if possible (when home) I lift the rear of the bike when adjusting preload. I bought directly from Ohlins a few years ago at a rally. I can't say enough good about those guys, top notch.

I would love to try a set of Pro Action shocks just to compare. They would be my other consideration if I was in the market today.

So you are saying that there is basically no preload and the springs loose? Is it simply you can't adjust them looser as there isn't any more adjustment and you don't know what the preload is solo?. Adding 6 turns adds 9mm preload.

Max, with the springs at adjusted as I stated and me sitting on the bike, feet on the floor boards I am at 1" sag. You are correct, I can't go any looser as no more adjustment. If I had a shorter spring there would be more. The Ohlins recommendation is one complete turn of the collar for each 25 lbs. With both of us on the bike at 6 turns I again have 1" of sag (measured by another person, top of axle spacer to fixed point).
