I bought a wooden bead pad from Cycle Crafts. All of 17.50. Here in Central Florida my jeans are wet after the 45 minute ride home each day. Not after using the pad. You can feel the air moving through it. Some think they look funky. Mine stays put without the straps, so I can toss it in the tour pack when the bike is parked. Also keeps you from burning your butt when the bike has been parked in the sun all day. For what it's worth.
The forum comes through again. Thanks for this thread. I just got back from the doctor's yesterday with a boil on my butt and a low grade fever. I'm putting a new roof on my house and had a marathon 12 hour sweaty day just before it showed up, so I don't think it is cycle related.
These skin problems need to be taken seriously. Earlier this summer I had a little pimple on my knee that turned out to be a drug resistant staph infection. Very nasty little bug. Got to spend 5 days in the hospital on IV antibiotics. Two different doctors and neither one has yet said anything about proper ventilation.

If you can't find Monkey Butt, try using Gold Bond powder (Yellow or Blue. The Green is foot powder is not good on your "jewels."[sm=smiley34.gif]).
Okay....okay......2 people here have advocated to NOT use the Gold Bond Green. There must be some funny damn storiesfor them to be able to pass this kind of information on.
Yes 600 miles. I left home about 5:30 AM and returned at midnight. I went from Charlotte to Charleston, SC. Rode around the area beaches, from Mt. Pleasant to Folly Beach.
I put an Alaska sheepskin on my E-Glide and it's great. I'll also 2nd the Underarmor skivvies, but with a little added advice: Get a size or two larger than your normal size unless you enjoy having your b-lls feel like they're being squeezed and crushed all day.
It works. I also bought a pair of underwear from these folks before I did my Iron Butt ride last month. I feel they performed well. The "no seams in the seat area" makes sense to me.
