At the time (2015 i think) there were only a couple non HD brands. Ended up buying a truck-lite system (headlamp/running combo). Have been extremely happy with it. Was a bit more than sunpie but closer to probeam in clarity and projection. Had friends who bought the sunpie 3 piece kits and they work great on their bikes. So I get a bit more light, but they saved a couple hundred bucks to put elsewhere.
Either way, even the knock offs are far better than stock (pre-led).

Octane lighting. Had them for 4 years. Both headlight and passing lamps. Makes the night light up like a stadium

Great thread, I might be tempted to try the Sunpie some day. DOT too, is a big plus for me. (there is a reason behind that)

With that said, I actually like the more amber color of the CD (at much greater cost however)

I run 881 yellow LEDs in my fog lights with the stock healdlight bulb.
Its MUCH more noticeable to vehicles during the daytime, one just needs to look in their rearview mirrors of any vehicle they are driving to verify that statement. Those bluelish nice looking LEDs do not stand out, they blend in with daytime light (car bike or truck) and I am more concerned with others seeing me, then the other way around.

The human eye is much more sensitive to yellow and amber light (part of the reason for DOT too)
With that said, for me personally, I find it more easy at night on a wet road with the yellow rather then blueish light.

I know I am in the minority and it took me a while to find a good bright, yellow, 881 LED replacement blub, (I was using halogen yellow) but I have, now lets hope it lasts because I am happy with them, at only $20 for the pair, have nothing to lose.

Just ordered these, I justed wanted to get something better then the sad passing lamps. Changed to the high watt xenon bulb last year in the head light. It fried my one phase stater, so I got a 3 phase, saprised to be able to Max it out with out harm. Still be better to get my volts up and have lights that work and look better. I didn't want to do the LED headlights as I just don't feal they are sean as well.

Wanted the hogworx but just can't afford it right now.

I don't really ride that much at night but the Sunpie LED along with the Custom Dynamics front signal kit have made a difference in my day visibility to other vehicles. My incidences of people starting to pull out in front of me are down noticeably.
I have had the Sunpie headlight and passing lamps, along with Custom Dynamic signal inserts, for a few years now. I agree with your assessment, bright lights make a difference during the day and night.

When I made the switch, it was like "night and day" on how cagers reacted when I approached. Splitting lanes, here in Cali, was the most noticeable.

Bright lights and big mirrors, Gotta see and be seen.

Gratuitous bike picture of front lighting.

Hows it going, I have the same bike 2012 RGU. What size lights did you buy?

I bought the Truck lite set from Amazon a couple months back, went with them instead of Sunpie because of the radio interference complaints in the reviews.
The difference from stock is worth the money to me. Good luck.

I cam across these on another forum and they have had good reviews in a thread going back 3 years. Anyone here tried these or similar knockoffs?

Just wish the sample pictures were the regular beam not the high beams so I can judge the baem that way too. I always ride with the passing lights on so my main beam is not on the high beam setting. (Yes, I know I can modify that but I don't want to do that)
