Hi, I'm new to the HD scene, long time rider though, just upgraded from a Vulcan Bagger. I noticed my 07 Ultra is a bit heavy on the steering, especially turning right, any cause or issue I need to address? Also my bars are a bit low, am I going to have to remove the outer fairing to get at the handlebar bolts?
Changed my bars from stock to reach bars. 5 hours tops, no need to remove inner fairing on my '19 limited. Dealer wants 12 hrs labor. I'm not a tech either. Have the Service Manual, helped a lot.
The bars can be easily adjusted once the clamps have been slackened off. Having done it myself it is amazing how much they can be moved, also how much better they are afterwards!
Yes, you need to remove the outer fairing. Get a service manual from your dealer, the best $75 you will ever spend on your bike!
As far as the heavy steering, have you checked tire pressures? Otherwise check for something dragging like clutch cable or brake lines. If you dont find anything you could check neck bearing adjustment.
Heard you can go 10" without changing cables, I went to 12" monkey bars and LOVE THEM.(new cables)........they sit just below shoulder height and make me sit up straight.
