I agree, foxtrapper. Our 2011 Street Glide trike has a Champion reverse, without lockout. It seems to be geared plenty low enough and has worked fine, since its installation in 2015.

Quick question for those of you with the M.R.P. . While my m.r.p. is being repaired can I reinstall my stock drive pulley and run the bike with it until the repaired m.r.p. gets back from Suspension Technologies? Wondering if it will work since I had to cut the cush drive bushing apart.
I shipped the M.R.P. on Thursday and they won't even get it until Friday 30 Aug which means I won't get it back until sometime after Labor Day weekend. I guess I should have not rested for a few days after my trip before I took the bike apart.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the current reverse kits on the market right now. After looking at all of them I went with the Yelvinton unit mostly because I did not have to mess with the transmission. Because mine is acting up some might say I made a bad choice but I am still more than happy with my decision. We'll see next week once Noah has my unit to tell me what went wrong but when it was working I really enjoyed having it and can't wait to get it reinstalled. When you get ready to buy a unit make sure to ask questions and get feedback from those of us who have one. Maybe you'll find someone who is close enough to you so that you could go check one out. .

I added a N-Line trailer a few years ago, LOVE that little gadget, but REALLY sucks when end up in a back in or pull in back out parking slot during trips. I admit to it, am getting old and legs do not like me much anymore, Lower Back is become a MESS so figure to gain a little thrust to weight advantage when do get locked into a corner.

Just a quick update,
I called Noah this morning and verified with him that I could reinstall my stock rear pulley and ride the bike with this installed until I get the M.R.P. back from them. Delivery is scheduled for Friday 30 August and depending on when he receives it the repaired M.R.P. will be shipped out on Tuesday 3 Sept. He'll call me once he has it torn down and let me know what happened and what is broken.

Well I wasn't going to put a dirty rim back on my bike so I spent a little time cleaning it today. Could really tell that the PO hadn't done any cleaning on this before.

I’ve motor trike reverse and like it. Don’t know if it was installed right though. Every time I engage it, makes a loud grinding noise.

Well that doesn't sound good. Have you ever talked to them to see if you could figure out maybe why it's making the noise? I'd hate to have you stranded on the side of the road with a blown transmission.

As in grinds going into reverse? That's fairly typical of any unit attached to the transmission. Parasitic drag on the clutch has the gearshaft turning, so it grinds going into reverse with the engine running. Even in neutral.

There are a few things you can do to help reduce this grinding engagement.

1. Select reverse with the engine off.
2. Shift it into reverse quicker. That replaces the grinding with a clanging though.
3. Use 1st gear to stop the shafts from turning, drop it into reverse, then shift out of 1st gear. This won't work if you have the safety switch installed btw.

Update: The reverse was delivered to Yelvington today so I should hear from them on Tuesday as to what happened and why the reverse stopped working. I would guess if everything goes as it should I will have it back around 9 Sept.

So I put the bike back together today with the stock rear pulley and am taking it in the HD for the 117" engine kit and the 10k service on Wednesday Sept 4 and should have it back on Saturday Sept 7.
