Default Question About Tail Light Wiring

I am modifying an '09 Electra glide's rear turn signal bar. What I am doing is, I have added large lights to the saddlebags to take over the turn signal lighting. It also involved removing the huge OEM turn signal bar and using the turn signal bar assy from a FLHT which is much smaller. So, I wanted to just use the new turn signal bar as just straight running lights. So I break open the book, and I see the following diagram. One of the wires is for the stock tail light, which is in use. The other wire, is shown as use for 'international' models. They both have the same voltage going to them, both operate the same, I.E. straight tail light when ignition is on, etc.. Does not do anything that the regular tail light doesn't do. So I decided to use that wire for my 'new' turn-signal-turned-into-straight-tail-light-bar. My question is, what on the international models, is different than on the domestics, that HD would add a wire and separate into domestic and international?

I believe the international models have the old school "real" brake light mounted above the license plate.

EDIT:

Actually, I was thinking Street Glide. Your bike probably has the real brake light right?

Maybe this link will help:

Mine is the standard EG rear. Center stop/tail, and the big chrome bar with signal lights on each end. The link you provided shows exactly what I replaced that big bar with. That little turn signal bar. I just used that extra “international “ wire to power it as a standard tail, in addition to the stock tail/ brake.
