I've had this Electra Glide for a few months now and I'm having a lot of fun with it. My previous thread shows the bike just after I brought it home at the end of March which was basically stock except for the standard Screamin' Eagle Stage-1 package. Learning about Touring models has been a bit of a curve so far but this forum has helped me out a lot.
I've stripped the bike down and made a few changes which aren't drastic by any means, however, I listed them below along with part numbers in case anyone else is looking to do the same:
Swapped stock seat for a Street Glide seat.
Removed front and rear bumpers.
Removed heel shifter and installed Drag Specialties Shifter Shaft Cap (1601-0015).
Removed saddlebag rails and guards and installed Drag Specialties Saddlebag Guard Eliminator Bracket (3501-0613).
Removed passenger floorboards and installed footpegs using Drag Specialties Gloss Black Short Passenger Footpeg Mount Kit (1621-0785).
Eliminated all amber lenses and installed Kuryakyn Turn Signal & Fender Tip Lens Kit (4994) in the front and Kuryakyn Red Replacement Lenses (4996) in the rear.
Looks great! VERY similar to my 2011.....i did the same pretty much. I love the look of a stripped down Classic....just different enough to seperate it from the sea of SG's you see out there latley.
I also went for the clean look on my Ultra Classic project. My sweetie doesn't ride and there ain't no body else so I pulled the tour pack along with the bumpers and engine guard fairings and put in all LED lights and a Solo Mustang seat with a fender bib.
