All of the places you got estimates from have techs that never swapped bars - until they did. Don't let it intimidate you, it's not that hard.
That's true, I feel pretty confident after watching the video, I also watched the KST guys do my 2017 SGS but they went so fast I couldn't keep up, two guys did that job and was rolling the bike out in 45 mins, they definatly knew what they were doing and could probably do it in their sleep.
If you do disassemble the connectors take lots of pictures for reference. Also if you are bypassing the green TBW plug do NOT remove the yellow and black sheaths from the 2 sets of wires. They are easy to confuse without the sheath. Also it did seem easier to pull wire sets one at a time instead of together. Assembly lube is your friend. And if your riser bushings dictate 2-1/4 bolts, find them ahead of time or be ready to massage 2-1/2 bolts down.
I have LA Choppers Twin Peaks 12" bars on my 2012 Street Glide and I did them myself, except for the wiring and TBW, I took it to a chopper sop close to my house and they routed the wires through the bars, I reconnected the wires to the deutch connectors. I'm not going to say it is a easy job, but just take your time and mark all your connectors. Bars and the chopper shop putting the wires in cost, $300
Your 19 should have micro connectors which negates having to disassemble the connectors to pull the wiring through. Also the fairing should just tilt out of the way once loosened. It takes me about 45 minutes to swap bars on a 19 road glide so it shouldnt be more than 1.5 hours on the new batwings.
Stripped it down to the bars this evening, removed the stock bars and pulled the wires out of them. Got the throttle side done but did have to de pin, now I'm stuck on the left side because of the heated grip plugs, 2 on that side and then the control switch wire. One of the grip plugs seems too big to fit through and cant seem to de pin it, I will keep plugging away .
Was gonna do it myself when I heard what HD was gonna charge me.....(over $1100) then I took it to the indie and he said he'd charge me $220.....NO BRAINER!!!!! Dropped it off in the morning, was ready later that day but I picked it up the next morning because I spent the day on the ocean instead. Came out perfect. My time is worth more to me at this stage of life.......and the 2 huge striped bass that I caught fishing that day was the icing on the cake......

This. If you don't want to tackle it yourself find a good Indy and stick with them. I got quoted 6 hours labour to do cams on my 2012 RKC, Indy did it for half that and hourly rate is also less. Dealer shop rate is always a rip-off, cars, bikes, doesn't matter.
Got it all wrapped up! All said and done I am very happy that I did this job myself and saved a chunk of change! Would not hesitate to do another. Factory 47's video carried me all the way through so big thanks to them! Ride safe brothers!
