nice bike. looks so much better than my 2010 rk. also, nice house, deck, yard, garage! be careful on that new scoot, too many idjits out there to ride with your radar off.
I spent some time today detailing the bike out some. (Also took a nice ride, got my tag, paid taxes,etc..)
My front lamps are kinda hazy looking? I read up on here somewhere , that you can pull the bulbs, and swoosh some alcohol. Great hack. Look like new!
To clean the headlamps take them off, Poor a little white vinegar in, let them sit. Drop a fine scrub pad in, take a wooden spoon handle and scrub the inside. Rinse, use a hairdryer or set in the sun to dry.
After you do all of that look on eBay and order the LED headlamp and passing lamp kit for around a hundred and get twice the light at night.
I'is it me or are the '06 and older just a lil sharper looking because of the fuel tank shape/size? Th!
Tanks changed in 2008. Unless money is an issue, I wouldn't buy a 5 gallon tank myself.
Its an 800 lb bike, one less gallon is not going to make its butt look smaller.
I bought my FLHR at 28, added lowers, then oil pressure gauge, then tourpak, with in 4 yours I bought FLHTCU. FLHR is now my summer bike. Windshield has not been off in over 12 years, trunk hasn't been off in 10. Lowers are off now that I got Ultra.
I like the road king, but it is just a big cruiser. Road across the country, but don't consider it a touring bike.
Yes, that's why I was attracted to it. It don't have all the crap on it except bags. The bags will be handy, none of my others ever had a place to put anything. Good bike for 2 up and day trips. I'm used to my old fxr and new Softail. It stuck in my mind when I went over rumble strips today, barely noticeable! Lol, that's crazy.
will using rain x or anything else work better to help seeing in inclement weather? read somewhere that rain x clouds the shield and doesn't help? any suggestions?

There's a type of Rain-X made specifically for plastics. Use that and you won't have any problems.
please lets us know how they work out. I have thot of getting them myself, just don't know much about them. currently have cycle shack slip ons and they sound too raspy/sharp. not enough low end rumble.
