Default RoadKing appearance opinions please?

I've been shopping for a King for a couple months Almost. Not sure what I really wanna spend, etc. Changes everyday. Lol. Here's my question. Looks are subjective, of course, but looking at sale ad photos, is it me or are the '06 and older just a lil sharper looking because of the fuel tank shape/size? There's something..., Can't quite put my finger on it. Thanx!

Personally, I agree. I like the looks of my 99 better than the new ones.

I think it's the front tire on the earlier road kings...the newer low profile tires look good on the street/road glides but the road king just needs that's fatter tire to go with the big *** headlight and no fairing. Of course that's just my biased opinion.

No better looking (or just plain better) HD than a Road King. Coolest bike in the Harley line-up.

Prior to buying my FLHRSI almost a year ago, was looking into 2009+ FLHR models and the Dyna Switchback. Test rode both as well as a few others.

The newer Road King is a silky smooth coast to coast ride. Was not happy with the larger tank, pushed forward sitting on rather than in ergos and felt too wide.

Liked the Dyna Switchback better but the single disc front brake and vibration ruled it out.

Friend let me try out his 2006 FLHR and it was perfect! The vibration isn't as smooth as the 2009+ yet better than the Dynas.

You just have to decide btw the standard, classic and custom Road King models.

Bough an 07 Road-King Custom, saddlebags bags were a little small. With enough T-bags I could pack everything I needed for a 2 week road trip.
I got a LRS recurved windshield, and some fangs to move the wind around me, for almost no buffeting.

They all look good IMHO, I do like the fact that you can customize just about anything to make it look the way you want.

I love my old RKC, I can see myself buying a newer one but hard to imagine parting with this one.
