Glad your ok, the bike will survive, and no biggie if it doesn't, thats why we can just go get another one. But pretty hard to buy a arm or a leg. I crashed really bad in 1981. After reading everyones post and on a ride yesterday taking a similar corner as you I felt the rear starting to kick out, I wasnt leaning hard at all, maybe 30 mph, cars in front of me taking the corner with ease, almost felt as if the rear was riding on a sponge, I straightend the bike out and rode the outside edge of the curve and it was fine, my nephew on his sportster takes that corner at 60 all day long. I wouldnt even concider it. Takes way to long to heal at 43.

Again take care and you will be back on soon.

Glad you made it through. Ever consider adding pontoons to your bike? :-)

In many ways you are very lucky - not the least of which is that you hit mud and nothing else. Bikes can be replaced quicker than broken bones so count your blessings. Get it fixed and out of your mind.

Wonder why it is that some people seem to totally forget how to be civil in the world of the ethernet. It seems like some make comments they would never make in a face to face conversation.

if going 30 in a 40(curve caution sign) .... I'd make a guess... it was human error... (ie hit the apex of the curve wrong... and felt you might not make it... hit the brakes and the bike straightened up and off you went.

one thing to let off the gas if you feel you are too hot in the curve... but you have to just lean' and lean that lean will hold itself unless you end up with too much lean as to scrape pegs or boards too much. I wouldn't imagine doin 30 in a 45 would require such a lean. I would bank it up to what I stated above.

Glad you are OK!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep us abreast of the status of your bike... (ie insurance....and fixing it).

I'd blame it on a bad ECU ... and see if MOCO will fix it all for free!

glad to hear your ok. now to the nay sayers about the date stamp. who really effinn cares? one of our brothers has had an accident and you want to bash him because of a little technical date stamp issue?
get over it. it shows you care more about the petty little sh!! than his well being. if you would actually take the time to look at the pics of the bike you can tell it is a 2007!!!!!. ok enough ranting. i hope you heal well from this experiance bill good luck

After looking at the pics a second time I reccommend you DONOT sit on a water bottle while going into a turn. The water shifting from one side of the bottleto the other can cause severe loss of control.
fatboyemt its called free surface effect in the Marine Industry and can have catastrophic results.I know off topic
Bill, glad to hear you are in pretty good spirits considering the wild ride you took, but the next time you decide to MX why dony you do it on a Honda or a Yamaha MX bike I hear they are designed for that kinda abuse.
Keep us informed of your progress with your recovery ( mental and phsyical ) not to mention how your insurance company treats you as well.
Did you have a Gaurdian Bell on yer bike cause sure as sh*t* someone is looking out for you!
