I wanted to give a quick review on the GP front suspension on my 18 FLHXSE. I ride daily to work and on the weekends do some 2 up riding in the SoCal mountains and needed a front suspensions I could easily adjust. This suspension has external preload, compression, and rebound adjustments that are easy to access/change with the gas tank removed. I was running an aftermarket competitor prior and there was no compression or rebound adjustment and the preload adjustment could only be accessed by taking apart the forks. I've been able to dial in my front suspension to compliment my rear, I love this setup. There is some minor modification to the sliders but I did it all at home in about 3 hrs taking my time. Here are a couple of pics and the video I watched to complete the install. If you order, you have to order the install tools to complete.
I've looked at these, and heard really good reviews on them.... did you install yourself...??
I'm hesitant about the grinding part of the install. I'm a visual person, if I could see what needs to be ground and to what point, I'm sure I could do it.... but even this install video, quickly goes over the grinding part.... no before, no after pics, nor do they show specifically what has to be ground down/off or to what amount......

Yes I installed myself.
I agree with being visual, I watched that video multiple times before install. The kit does come with a picture of the contents that come out of the slider that you discard which helped. The part that is grinded off is a thin (1/32 or less) inverted lip that holds the discarded contents in place.
Man those look nice. Cool deal you can adjust them without taking crap apart multiple times. Doesnt look like they have them for my year. Saving money!
I have these and also love them. On my 2015 road glide I can adjust without removing anything. I was worried about the install but it was easy after watching those same videos a few times.

They positively will not fit into 41mm fork tubes which you have. You are 100% correct unless you put in a set of 49mm fork tubes etc.

looks like we are both in San Diego, if you buy them, I can swing by and help you install or you can bring your bike to my garage.

Thanks.... I appreciate the offer... when the time comes, I'll probably just take my time and power through it... I'll certainly save your info, should I get stumped...
I'm not sure when I'll get around to the front suspension... Saving $$$ now for big engines mods planned for Sept/ Oct... it's always something, at least it's something fun!!!
