I have a 2012 Ultra Limited, My problem is that when my voltage drops below 14 volt my cruise control does not work. I have changed battery and voltage regulator and it still does it. My voltage never gets below 13.5 by my meter. Any Idea’s?

What, if anything had you done to the machine before this began? New handlebars, grips, anything with the switch boxes on either side of the handle bars? Even a wash job with a garden hose or high pressure nozzle? Dropped the bike and bent either the lever or pedal arm? Wired in a new gadget?

Just looking through recipes, Hat Todd apes and heated gripes put on January 2017 and it stated doing it in August 2018.

I don't believe the cruise control will work under 35 MPH. So if your stopped at a light, you need to set the speed again, when you hit the speed you want to cruse at.,,

Under 30 MPH or less than 3rd gear.

Possibilities now are a pinched wire in the cruise system when remounting the switch boxes (a nuisance to trouble shoot and locate) OR the standard cruise problem induced by grip or handle bar change. There is a little plastic button on the front brake light switch which is very easily broken off if the book procedure for installing the lever is not carefully followed. The tell-tale symptom is easily checked with a friend watching the brake light or the bike backed up close to a wall so you can see the brake light reflection. See how much brake lever movement is required to cause the brake light to go on. My bet, almost none. Barely moving the brake lever from the fully stowed position will light the light and that shuts off the cruise and may cause to voltage to drop at the same time because of the added brake light load. It is a FREE check you can do yourself. If you must move the lever close to half an inch before the light goes on, the brake light switch is undamaged and not the problem. If the brake light does not seem to come on at all, the lack of increased brightness may be that the brake light is on all the time, still the front brake light switch is a good candidate for the cause but in this case, the cruise won't engage at all.

The HD electrical trouble shooting manual has flow charts that work. I fixed my cruise control in about 20 minutes. Loose wire that I would have never found without the manual.
I could not find a used one . Had to purchase new from HD around 70 bucks or so and worth every penny.

Thanks for ideas guys,
brake leavers are fine both move over half inch at end of leaver before light come on. I think something is wrong with voltage. I rode with volt meter and my voltage goes between 13.5 and 14.2. When it goes below 14 it does not work. Then I ride maybe 5-10 miles then it works again and voltage came back up.
