Friend of mine traded his Heritage Softee (2002 I think), for an 07 EGlide Cassic 1 month ago...he gets gas last week and the bike starts runnin rough as he gets close to home. He makes it home and puts it away. Next morning he and his ol' lady are plannin on goin to the Newport Jazz festival on the bike. He starts it and it's actin like it's runnin on one lung. He figures that the gas he got day before was bad so he drains it and refills with fresh. No go..so he drives to Framingham Mass from his house(30 miles) to the only dealer around that's open on Sunday and gets plugs...no go. He gives up and calls dealer where he bought it the next day,(Cape Cod Harley), and they tell him to tow it in. They figured it out...One of his cam sprockets broke a chunk off!!! Bike has like 2500 miles on it...they're gonna fix it under warranty and mentioned that there has been a small number of 07's with this problem(bad casting on the sprockets maybe?)...anyone of you 07 owners ever hear of this problem?..I feel for the guy....no bike till mid August probably..
No loaner bike offered..and the dealer had to somewhat fight with the factory to get it covered! He put on pipes and aircleaner when he first got it and the factory gave him a hard time over it. He called HD(the dealer has been good so far), and corporate first said(we don't know if we are going to cover the repairs due to the aftermarket parts). He got the dealer to straighten that out but this all took a week..then a week to fix and be picked up..sucks big time..
Joe, thanks for the heads up on that. I have an 07 and with 4K on the odo it is running fine.. but's it's good to know about others issues just in case.
My o7 EGC looks just like yours, can I ask you what seat that is you have on it?

1. If dealer installed pipes and air cleaner, should be covered under warranty, no questions.
2. If he installed pipes and air cleaner, dealer should have just left off that part when reporting problem.
Don't see how those 2 items caused a cam sprocket to go bad.
Oh, and if they are going to cover it, now might be a good time to go to cam drive instead of the chain and pay the difference.
That is exactly what happened tomy 07 RKC, Except mine stop running all together. I wentto the dealer after the bike was torn down and i could acually spin the gear around on the cam. They replace the bad cam and went for a test ride and the bike didnt run right still, so they replaced the front cam and now the bike is great. By the way this happened when the bike had around 900 miles on it. Now i have 1300 miles.
