Hello I just wanted to share a repair I just had done.2 weeks ago I changed my oil and when i took the plug out the threads decided to come out with it. I heard of this happening to a few people. Luckily I know I local guy who is an amazing machinist. I took it to him instead of trying to tap a oversize plug in the pan and cracking it or using a rubber plug which makes me nervous. I got it back today and he did a great job on it. He retapped it helicoiled it and even made a new custom drain plug. He ground the face down a little and cut a new relief for the o ring to seal. He used red loctite on helicoil so it wouldn't ever come out.

 

Great job, great friend. Hope he got a six pack of his favorite beverage.
